Biography
Leighton Marissa Claire Meester was born on April 9, 1986, in Marco Island, Florida. She started as a model at age 11, even working with then-photographer Sofia Coppola. Later, Leighton Meester turned to acting and she soon began appearing in a string of supporting TV roles, such as Law and Order in 1999.

Since then Leighton Meester has had roles on more than a number of different shows including Boston Public, Crossing Jordan, 7th Heaven, Entourage, 24, 8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter, Veronica Mars, House M.D., CSI: Miami, Shark, and, most recently, Gossip Girl, costarring Blake Lively, Kelly Rutherford, Chace Crawford, and Kristen Bell.
Although Gossip Girl kept Leighton Meester very busy in 2007, she found time to punch the clock for the made-for-television movie The Haunting of Sorority Row and the comedy-horror Killer Movie, starring Kaley Cuoco and Paul Wesley.
In September 2008, she announced she was also recording her first album. Leighton Meester is apparently working on writing the album. About the style of the album, Leighton Meester said, "The music is electric and very pop, with a little bit of rock to it. It's not like bubblegum -- it's very edgy. "
