It all started when she was just four years old. It was only then that the young Nelly Karim took her first steps in the world of ballet. She lived in Alexandria at the time and it was not long before she moved with her family to Russia. During her ten year stay there, Nelly not only joined a professional ballet school but she also took piano lessons in a musical school. In 1991, the star-to-be accompanied her family back to Cairo.

There was still lots to accomplish but Nelly knew her way. She continued her studies, but this time in choreography, at the Academy of Arts in the Cairo Ballet Institute. This was a good time for the young ballerina as her ballet career witnessed a sudden push forward when she was accepted in the Cairo Ballet Company. Nelly had her share of prizes also during her magnificent career.

Nelly was awarded first prize in 1992 in the Cairo Ballet Competition and in the same year she took part in the Moscow International Competition. The competition was held in the Bolshoy Theater and the young ballerina proved her talents when she came in second in the finals. In 1996, the accomplished classic dancer was chosen to take part in the International Ballet Competition in Japan. As a member of the Cairo Opera House, Nelly starred in numerous ballets among which were Don Quixote, Giselle, Swan Lake, Isis Usuris, Nut Cracker, Candrella, Carmina- Burana and Balero.

The young star had more in mind than just ballet; namely the acting field. However, it was not until 1999 that Nelly made her first attempt to invade the television. It was through the Fawazir in which she appeared alongside the famous actor Salah Abdullah. Then she decided to take another step the following year in “Shabab Ala El-Hawa” with a cast including Hanan Turk and Ahmed El-Fishawey. Soon after, the accomplished star got a chance to act alongside the ever famous Faten Hamama in the television series “Wagh El-Qamar”, followed by a role in Naguib Mahfouz’s “Hadith Al-Sabah Wa Al-Massa”.

As if all that was not enough, Nelly then turned to the cinema and accepted a leading role in “Sehr El-Eyoun” with Amer Mounib in 2002. Her second movie followed in 2003; “Houroub Elmoumyaa” but was not much of a success. Nowadays you can see the beautiful ballerina/ actress in her latest film; “Ghabey Menou Feh” with the comedian Hany Ramzy. It is currently showing in cinemas.

نيلي مُنِحتْ جائزةَ أولى في 1992 في منافسةِ باليهِ القاهرة وفي نفس سَنَةِ أَخذتْ جزءاً في منافسة موسكو الدوليةِ. المنافسة حُمِلتْ في مسرحِ Bolshoy وراقصة البالية الشابة أثبتا مواهبَها عندما جاءتْ في ثانيةِ في النهائيات. في 1996، الراقص الكلاسيكي البارع إخترَ الإشتِراك في منافسةِ الباليهِ الدوليةِ في اليابان. كعضو دار أوبرا القاهرة، نيلي starred في الباليهِ العديدةِ بين التي كَانتْ دون كيشوت، جيسيل، بحيرة بجع، إيسيس Usuris، كسارة بندق، Candrella، كارمينا Burana وBalero.

كما لو أنَّ كُلّ ذلك ما كَانَ بما فيه الكفاية، نيلي ثمّ إتّجهتْ إلى السينما والمقبولِ a دور أساسي في “ Sehr أل Eyoun ” مَع Amer Mounib في 2002. فلمها الثاني تَلى في 2003؛ “ Houroub Elmoumyaa ” لكن ما كَانَ نجاحاً كبيراً. في الوقت الحاضر أنت يُمْكِنُ أَنْ تَرى راقصةَ البالية الجميلةَ / ممثلة في فلمِها الأخيرِ؛ “ Ghabey Menou Feh ” مَع الكوميدي Hany Ramzy. هو يُشوّفُ حالياً في السينمات.
