Rania Says : My ultimate goal in life has been to do what I love, be
happy and make others around me happy and I have been working towards
that goal ever since I was bitten by the acting and singing bug. I first
stepped into the limelight strumming my guitar and singing the words to
“ A Little Peace” when I was only eight (it was also my first political
statement) :) My love for acting developed after playing the role of
Oliver Twist in the musical “Oliver” @ age eleven and since then I never
looked back…. I knew that I wanted to sing and act for the rest of my
life My skills were then honed and sharpened after 5 years of intense training at both a performing arts college and Drama School in England till I graduated in 1996. In the real world and back in my homeland; my mixed cultural background of (Arab, Kurdish, Irish and Circassian blood) proved helpful in pushing forward my ideas to produce and present TV shows of a different style and caliber for Arab viewers. I also released two duets in this period…the first being ZGURT with DJ Abu Yousef which to say the least caused quite a stir and was even banned by one of the local radio stations!! But in spite of that, it was a great and unexpected success that was eventually signed over to EMI records and released as part of a compilation named “21st Century Arabia”. The second was produced and recorded as a duo named BLIS, which was collaboration between myself and close friend Adeeb Derhalli. The song Eternally is a combination of English lyrics and haunting yet rhythmic oriental melodies. This set the base for fulfilling one of my greatest dreams…releasing a solo album in Arabic. Creating melodies with an occidental and oriental flavor, then writing some of my own lyrics in Arabic has been an enriching and liberating experience, it has given me the freedom to communicate and express myself to others through the most powerful medium… MUSIC.My solo debut album is entitled RANIA as an introduction to what i and my music are about and i plan to release my second album sometime in 2004. In between working on my music, i have presented the Arabic version of the famous Pop Idol for Future Tv in Lebanon for two years running, which just ended recently on the 29th of August 2004 with the crowning of Ayman Al Atar from Libya . The Pan Arab show called Superstar has had millions of viewers and proved to be the most popular show in the MiddleEast رانيا تَقُولُ: هدفي النهائي في الحياةِ أَنْ تَعمَلُ الذي
أَحبُّ، يَكُونُ سعداءَ وآخري صنعِ حولي سعداء وأنا أَعْملُ نحو ذلك الهدفِ
مُنذُ أن أنا عُضِضتُ بالبقِّ بالوكالةِ والغنائيِ. دَخلتُ الضوء الساطعَ
strumming قيثارتي أولاً ويَغنّي الكلماتَ إلى “ أي قليلاً سلام ” متى أنا
كُنْتُ فقط ثمانية (هو كَانَ أيضاً بيانَي السياسيَ الأولَ): ) حبّي لتمثيل
طوّرَ بعد لعب دورِ اوليفير تويست في "أوليفير" الموسيقي @ عُمر أحدَ عشرَ
ومنذ ذلك الحين أنا مَا نَظرتُ للوراء …. عَرفتُ بأنّني أردتُ غِنَاء
وإنَابَة عن بقية حياتي |
