This Christina Ricci is a golfer who thinks women are making inroads on the greens

If we’re honest about it, male golfers will admit the course, from tee to green, still can be a rather chauvinistic place.
Leave a putt short and we’ll say to ourselves, “Oh, come on; hit it, Alice!” Play a round with our wives or girlfriends or sisters and we’ll find it difficult, some of us, not to be impatient as the “ladies” hit from the forward tees. See a beautiful female golfer on the next fairway? See us walk into a tree.
Christina Ricci knows, though, that golf is no longer a man’s world. In A Girl’s On-Course Survival Guide to Golf: Tee to Green and In-Between, she offers tips on skills, etiquette, rules and more. She’s qualified to give such advice; after playing just five years, her handicap is an outstanding 5.3. She answered questions about the book (she has a Web site, too; see www.golfsurvivalguide .com) in an interview.
