She might be considered a musical and cinematic icon in her native France, but elsewhere Vanessa Paradis is most famous for being the girlfriend of Johnny Depp.
Since she first hooked up with him ten years ago, it has been easy to forget that this impossibly chic mademoiselle has been hugely successful in her own right.
Born and raised in Val-de-Marne on the outskirts of Paris, Paradis demonstrated a love for singing from an early age and came to notice when performing on a popular children’s TV show.
