LITTLE Britain star David Walliams is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have been targeted by obsessed stalkers.
Stars generally welcome the worship of adoring fans, but it can tip over into dangerous - and sometimes deadly - infatuation.
Experts say celebrity stalkers generally have mental health problems and often imagine they are having an intimate relationship with their victim. In the most serious cases their obsessed thoughts have turned to murder.

She’s been hard at work up in Vancouver, British Columbia on her latest project “I Love You Beth Cooper.” And now Hayden Panettiere is back in the States.
Last night, the “Heroes” hottie was spotted treating her mother Lesley to a late dinner at the celebrity-friendly Katsuya restaurant in Los Angeles, California.
And in a recent interview, Miss Panettiere made it known that she’s none too keen on the drinking age in America. She told press, “I can buy porn or kill someone in war but I can’t have a glass of wine. If I could change one thing about America, it would be its ridiculous age limits on things.”

Atkinson and her boyfriend Marcus Bent, 30, a footballer with Wigan Athletic, visited the chimpanzee at Monkey World near Wool, Dorset, for the first time yesterday.
Bryan, who is five, was rescued from the Mexican beach resort of Cancun last year. He was being trained as a beach photographer’s prop, his teeth had been knocked out to stop him biting tourists and he was regularly beaten.
The 23-year-old actress, who took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, contacted staff at Monkey World last month after watching the plight of monkeys at the Dorset wildlife park on television.

Kylie Minogue has been voted the celebrity who is growing older most glamorously.
The popstar topped a poll of more than 36,000 music fans by xRank, which charts the number of daily web searches stars receive.
Minogue, who celebrates her 40th birthday this week, scored 45% of the vote, beating fellow Australian Elle Macpherson, 40, and Liz Hurley, 42.
She was also voted the celebrity Britons would most like to see strutting her stuff on stage into her 70s (28%), with Madonna and Girls Aloud taking the next two places.

For the second game in a row, Eva Longoria proved to be unlucky for hubby Tony Parker - as his San Antonio Spurs suffered a beat down at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Desperate Housewives actress was on hand at the Staples Center in Los Angeles lat night (May 23), cheering her hubby on despite his team’s 101-71 loss.
From here, the Spurs and Lakers head to San Antonio for Game 3, with no word on whether Eva plans on making the trip to Texas.

Sunday, 36-year-old Carmen Electra told People about her relationship with fiancé Rob Patterson. She recently met with Patterson’s parents while she took time off from the filming of her new movie, Mardi Gras, in New Orleans. “They’re really cool,” she says. “We had a great day today and . . . we’re looking forward to doing some dancing then going straight back to New Orleans.”
Does this mean that motherhood will soon approach? “I hope to be a mom some day, but I’m not rushing to be one. It would be a lot of fun. A lot of hard work, but I’ll look forward to it someday,” Electra said.

Britney Spears reportedly has a new boyfriend.
The singer made her first formal public appearance in months at Ed Hardy owner Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday party in Los Angeles on Saturday (24.05.08), accompanied by Jason Trewick.
Jason - who, according to sources, has known Britney “for years” - has been getting closer to the singer since her recent holiday in Costa Rica.
The new romance has received the blessing of Britney’s father, Jamie, who sees him as a “stabilising influence”.
A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Jamie thinks Jason would be a great match for Britney.
