Mom-to-be Alba, who is currently eight months pregnant with her first child, knows the sex of her baby but will not reveal the answer to the public, reports contactmusic.com.

Even though DeGeneres tried to persuade Alba to reveal the baby’s gender, the stunning actress kept hush. DeGeneres believes Alba will give birth to a girl after tying a wedding ring to a string and holding it over Alba’s palm— only to have the ring move in a circular motion.

Janet Jackson receives gay award

has been honoured for her work in the gay community, receiving the Vanguard Award at the 19th Annual GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Award.

The ceremony, held in Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on Saturday, were presented by lesbian US talk show host .

Upon receiving her award, Janet said: “I love it. I never expected it in a million years so when I heard they wanted to honour me, I was really taken aback. It’s just for the work that I’ve done with AIDS and acknowledging the gay and lesbian community through my music and so on. I’m just very appreciative.”

Janet has always been vocal about gay rights, and even wrote her number one single Together Again as a tribute to a close friend who died from AIDS.

Kylie Minogue abandons plans to crack the US

Australian pop princes has abandoned plans to crack the US market after her latest attempt failed.

The furious singer told a pal, “I gave it my best shot. I won’t try again.”

Kylie, 39, has only had two top ten hits in the US, The Locomotion in 1988 and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head in 2002.

Earlier this month, she appeared on The Today Show, Dancing With The Stars, The Show and The Late Late Show to promote the US release of her album X. But the record failed, debuting outside the top 100, coming in at #139 on the Billboard 200 with sales of just 6,000 copies.

Janet Jackson’s lesbian honour

will be honoured by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) this month.

The ‘Feedback’ singer is set to be recognised by the organisation for working to combat prejudice against sexuality in the music industry. She will be presented with the Vanguard Award by US talk show host at the organisation’s Media Awards in Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on April 26.

Janet said: “I have received a number of awards throughout my career, but I am so proud to be receiving the Vanguard Award from GLAAD.

“Since its inception in 1985, GLAAD has taken the lead in making sure that people will no longer be judged by their gender identity or sexual orientation. I applaud them for their continued work and thank them for this honour from the bottom of my heart.”

Neil G. Giuliano, President of GLAAD, added: “We are delighted to honour at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles as such a visible, welcoming and inclusive ally of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
