When everything goes wrong for celebrities some hit the bottle, some go into hiding and others make a documentary.

Yes, the latest craze in Celeb land isn’t Kabbalah or yoga, the rave is now fly-on-the-wall documentaries where we’re invited to share the everyday turmoil’s and joys of the famous.

So what drives celebrities to expose warts and all to the public? Maybe it’s due to the huge success of The Osbourne’s that entices celebs to cash in on the act. This documentary of a dysfunctional family was a hit with MTV viewers and even picked up an Emmy Award. An instant popularity boost and an award to pop in the cabinet could well be the reason why so many celebrities have followed pursuit.

Lindsay Lohan’s family are getting their own reality TV show following in the footsteps of legends like the Osbournes, Snoop Dogg and of course Jodie Marsh.

Dina Lohan- the film star’s self publicising manager mum- and younger daughter Ali will be the subjects of the series for US network E!.
