Britney Spears and K-Fed: Friends Again?

Now that  Britney Spears is on the road to getting her life back together, she’s enjoying the benefits of seeing her kids more, and as a result, seeing more of her ex-husband  Kevin Federline.  And according to K-Fed’s law man Mark Vincent Kaplan, there could be a friendship sparking.

During an appearance on the Today show, Kaplan shed some light on the potentially-friendly arrangement between the “Gimme More” singer and her ex.

Britney Spears expected in court for custody hearing

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Exactly three months have passed since Britney Spears slipped away from a psychiatric ward and promptly stirred up a paparazzi car chase, a scene that looked like the beginning of even more erratic behavior for the troubled pop star.

In the weeks that followed, Spears started acting out of character, all right: She laid low and avoided the cameras. She spent time with family members. She found work, and succeeded at it.

With that stability and momentum to build on, it would appear Spears’ child-custody hearing Tuesday has the potential for a positive outcome — as long as she gets it together to show up this time. All indications are that she will.

The troubled 26-year-old pop star, who has been under the conservatorship of her father since her one-week-early release from UCLA Medical Center, is expected to attend the custody status hearing in a downtown courthouse with her parents. Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, will also attend, said his spokesman, Elliot Mintz.

Overnight mom Britney Spears

Britney Spears is close to having overnight visits with her two sons.

The ‘Toxic’ singer - who lost all visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and 18-month-old Jayden James in January following a stand-off with police - has recently had limited access to the boys and is now showing signs of responsible parental behaviour.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline, who currently has sole custody, told America’s OK! magazine: “Britney’s progress over the last two months is good. But it’s premature to say that two months shows a pattern of consistency.

“We need to see a steady, consistent trend of behaviour for a while. The goal is consistency over time with nothing at all out of the ordinary.”

Once Britney has proved she is a suitable mother, Kaplan says Kevin is keen for her to be involved in the boys’ everyday lives.

Britney Spears: Not Cured Yet

She’s been through the ringer over the past year or so, and  Britney Spears looks to be coming out on the other side of some serious drama - but she still has some work to do.

The “Gimme More” singer was spotted combing the racks of Paige boutique on Robertson Boulevard yesterday.  She sported a blue and white striped shirt with a pair of figure-flattering jeans and her usual brown leather boots.

Following her shopping spree (and an exit aided by a police escort), the “Toxic” mommy headed over to Dominik’s restaurant with three pals for a delicious dinner.

According to Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Britney is making some real progress, but she’s not out of the woods yet.

He told press, “Jamie is doing a really good job.  There was a situation and that seems to be stabilized. Does that mean she’s cured? Of course not.”

Kevin Federline Denies That He And Britney Spears Are Reuniting

Report: Britney Spears Back on TV

According to TVGuide.com, Britney Spears — who’s been making nice with ex-hubby Kevin Federline — is in talks to reprise her role as the office assistant who falls for Ted. The CBS sitcom, which has yet to be renewed, had a huge ratings boost the night of Britney’s appearance and the pop tart won rave reviews for her guest gig, making it a win-win situation for both parties. It also proved Brit could do something besides fuel the gossip mill.

Britney Spears, Kevin Federline fight over $1 million legal bill

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Attorneys for pop star Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline on Monday sparred over $1 million in legal fees in their child custody case as an official let stand a court order that has denied her custody and limited visits with their two sons.

Family Court Commissioner Scott Gordon kept in place an earlier ruling that custody of Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2, would remain with Federline. He also maintained a previous order that has denied Spears any visitation, even though in recent weeks Federline has agreed to limited visits between her and the boys.

“In terms of the visitation rights, they are status quo,” said court spokesman Allan Parachini after a periodic hearing to review the arrangements. “That progression may change but as of now, no changes … have been made.”

The custody hearing began a daylong series of court sessions for the 26-year-old Spears who has been hospitalized twice for psychiatric evaluation since January.

Britney Spears’ Dad Spends Quality Time with K-Fed!

 Britney Spears’ dad Jamie Spears has been a rock for the troubled pop tart for the past few months and is the primary reason why the 26-year-old mom has regained visitation rights with her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
n January 3rd Brit-Brit lost custody of her children when she was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a mental breakdown. Since then, her father has had complete control over the pop tart’s life, as ruled by a judge.

But perhaps one of the reasons why Britney’s father has been successful in getting custody back is because of his great relationship with Spears’ ex husband Kevin Federline.

Kevin and Jamie were seen golfing together this weekend, sparking media attention and leading many to wonder whether Brit knew about their get together.

Kevin Federline, Britney Spears’ Dad in Court for Hearing

LOS ANGELES  —  Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, his attorney and Spears’ father were in court Monday for the first of two hearings regarding the pop star’s finances and future.

Spears’ father was expected to join Spears’ lawyer in complaining to a Los Angeles family law judge that Federline’s lawyer has overcharged the pop star, People magazine reported.

Sources told People that Britney’s new custody attorney, Stacy Phillips, will dispute a $500,000 tab from Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, as well as a $600,000 bill from Britney’s previous custody attorney, Sorrell Trope.

Photos were circulating Monday of Federline and Jamie Spears playing golf in Tarzana, Calif., over the weekend.

In the afternoon, attorneys representing Jamie Spears, who is currently serving as temporary co-conservator for his daughter, were set to appear before a probate court commissioner to discuss a timetable for updates on her psychiatric condition, People reported.

Last week, the commissioner extended the temporary co-conservatorship until July 31, but sources told People that Spears could regain control of her finances sooner should she continue to respond well to treatment.
