The world tour of pop star started with huge success on May 6 in Paris.

The singer that will stage a concert in Bulgaria’s capital this Sunday, May 13 on Lokomotiv stadium will arrive in the country with her parents.

Her mom and dad are traveling with their daughter in all European dates of the tour supporting the star’s new album ‘X’.

Kylie’s show in Sofia will include choreography, stage costumes, light effects, huge video screens and impressive multimedia.

France honor Kylie Minogue for contribution to French culture

who has to be one of the best exports from Australia has now picked up the Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et Lettres which is one of France’s top cultural awards. The award translates into Knight of Arts and Letters, she has received the award because of the cultural pleasure that she has given to the people of France.

An official from the French Culture Ministry said “Princess of pop, uncontested queen of the dance floors, you are a sort of Midas of the international music scene who turns everything she touches into gold, from records to micro-shorts.” Christine Albanel is the French Culture Minister presented Kylie with the award and said “Even if it isn’t the part of your anatomy which is the most often praised by the media, you have a big heart.”

Kylie Minogue To Be Honored By The French

The French will award their top cultural honor.

Kylie will receive the Chevalier dans L’ordre des Arts et Letters’ from the French government when she is in Paris on Monday May 4).

The French government has bestowed the award to Bob Dylan, Ella Fitzgerald and Meryl Streep in the past.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized in this way,” Kylie said in a statement. “French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France.”

has been awarded one of the highest cultural awards possible from France - a ‘knight’ in the Order of Arts and Letters.

The award will be personally presented to Minogue by the French Minister of Culture and Communications at a ceremony in Paris on May 5.

In a statement she said: “I am deeply honoured to be recognised in this way. French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France”.

The ‘Chevalier dans L’ordre des Arts et Lettres’ will be awarded to her for her “contribution to the enrichment of French culture”.

KYLIE is turning Japanese to promote her upcoming world tour - which still does not include Australia.

Unrecognisable in her fuchsia kimono and porcelain makeup, the Australian entertainer reprises a look she first adopted in a 1997 music video for German Bold Italic.

It is not known if geisha Kylie will be among at least seven costumes designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier to star in her $21 million KylieX2008 production, which premieres in Paris on May 6.

Or maybe the bonza Aussie singer is going bonsai in an attempt to ditch her paparazzi shadow.

Kylie Minogue announces new tour

has officially announced her new tour entitled, KylieX2008.

Described as “her greatest ever tour”, it will launch in Paris on May 6.

The tour will see her play for the first time in Greece, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Luxembourg, Russia, Latvia and Spain.

It will also be her first appearance in Northern Ireland since her first world tour in 1990. The tour ends in London on August 4, where she will play the last of seven nights at the 02 Arena.

The tour has cost £10 million to stage, and is the biggest and most expensive show that Minogue has produced to date.

Minogue’s new single ‘In My Arms’ is released on May 5.

AUSSIE pop princess and Socceroos star Harry Kewell have joined the elite group of Britain’s richest people.

While their personal wealth is dwarfed by the £27.7 billion ($57.8 billion) fortune of Indian-born steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, who remains the wealthiest person in Britain according to the latest Sunday Times newspaper’s annual Rich List, they are still doing quite nicely.

Minogue’s fortune is estimated at £40 million ($83.46 million), securing her 1794th spot in the Rich List’s top 2000 earners.

“From her days as Charlene in the Australian soap Neighbours, when she was paid just £150 (now $313) per episode, Minogue, 39, has graduated to become one of the world’s richest female singers,” the newspaper said.

“Minogue’s finances are in good order. Her company, Darenote, paid her £1.8 million ($3.76 million) in 2006. With her tours and recordings, she is worth £40 million ($83.46 million).”

Kewell, who plays for English Premier League club Liverpool, clinched equal ninth spot in a list of the top earners in Britain aged under 30.

Australian pop princes has abandoned plans to crack the US market after her latest attempt failed.

The furious singer told a pal, “I gave it my best shot. I won’t try again.”

Kylie, 39, has only had two top ten hits in the US, The Locomotion in 1988 and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head in 2002.

Earlier this month, she appeared on The Today Show, Dancing With The Stars, The Show and The Late Late Show to promote the US release of her album X. But the record failed, debuting outside the top 100, coming in at #139 on the Billboard 200 with sales of just 6,000 copies.
