Just weeks after the “low-key” wedding, one still asks the question did Mariah Carey make the right choice by tying the knot with rapper/actor/producer Nick Cannon who many are now calling a “fame seeker?”

According to this week’s issue of In Touch Magazine, Carey, a multi-platinum selling artist married the MTV “Wild-n-Out” star without a pre-nuptial agreement. This after dating for just a few weeks leading many to believe that the relationship will fail sooner than later.

Janet Jackson is back on top with ‘Discipline’

This week, Elvis Presley’s durable chart records get a drubbing from Madonna and Mariah: When “4 Minutes,” Madonna’s collaboration with Justine Timberlake (culled from her 11th studio album, “Hard Candy”) landed at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, the Material Girl surpassed the King for the most number of top 10 hits—her 37th!

But, Carey does even better: With “Touch My Body,” the carrier track from her upcoming album, “E=MC2,” she delivers her 18th No. 1 hit—a feat that enables her to take over the No. 2 spot from Presley for the most number of No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, second only to the Beatles, who have 20.

The two-hour programme aimed to raise $100 million (GBP50 million) for charities including Children’s Defense Fund, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Make It Right and Save the Children.

In fact, if you blank for a moment on who you’re listening to, it may take a minute to remember that it’s Lewis. She sounds like plenty of other latter-day R&B divas: There’s a little Mariah Carey, a bit of Christina Aguilera, maybe some Alicia Keys, even a hint of Whitney Houston.

Mariah Carey Scores Another Number One Song; Reports Say Jay-Z and Beyonce Got Married

This week Mariah Carey scores her 18th Number One on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with “Touch My Body.” That puts her in second place behind the Beatles for having the most chart-toppers on that list. Mariah Carey’s change is not out of character

Mariah Carey is making yet another comeback with her latest single “Touch My Body.” It’s the first single off her new album “E=MC2,” which will be released on April 15 by Island Records.

Her music has definitely evolved over the past decade, ever since she and former Colombia Records executive Tommy Mottola-who had a lot to do with Carey’s initial rise to fame-called it quits in 1998. The two met while working on her debut album.

After her separation from Mottola, Carey began to take more creative control over her music. She also went through an image change as she tip-toed her way into hip-hop with albums like “Butterfly,” “Rainbow,” “Charmbracelet” and her most recent, “The Emancipation of Mimi.”

But where has Mariah been the last three years? Fans waited eagerly for her to come out with something fresh. Then, on Feb. 19, “Touch My Body” hit the radio.

Though her new single reaches nowhere near the magnitude of her last singles, “We Belong Together” and “Don’t Forget About Us,” “Touch My Body” is still a hit in my book. It’s a sweet and sexy mid-tempo tune with a simple, monotonous beat hidden behind melodic vocals.

Though the title of the song is a bit salacious, the music video will have you chuckling because the message is so very different from the blatant “touch my body” message.

Mirror.co.uk reports that Carey flies with her dog in a private jet, does not travel by public transport and has around 10 bodyguards. She believes her lifestyle is the same as others.

Performer and songwriter Mariah Carey has set April 15th as the in-store date for the most eagerly anticipated album of the year, E=MC². The 11th studio album of her career, E=MC² is the follow-up to The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah’s worldwide 10 million selling #1 album, which generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), 2 #1 singles and countless more industry honors during its 18-month stay on the charts.
