May 30, 2008 (Sawf News) - The OC star Rachel Bilson made an impressive style statement in a black dress on Thursday night, May 29, 2008, at the launch of Chanel’s ‘New Concept Boutique’ at Robertson Blvd.

Chanel is exploring the concept of smaller stores that targets a younger crowd and focus on the neighborhood. The store will stock just a limited selection of the full range of Chanel products available at Rodeo Drive store.

The 5,395-square-foot, two-story boutique, which opens to the public on Friday, includes a huge landscaped courtyard bordering the main floor.

With the help of her mother (a sex therapist) and Thurman Murmen (her dog), the O.C. babe headed over to an office building on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Though she wasn’t heading out to a big Tinseltown gig, the “Last Kiss” hottie still looked runway-ready, sporting a black and white flowy top and a pair of vintage jeans along with some black leather boots.

After leaving her place, the Jumper actress stopped by the local gas station, filling up her Lexus Hybrid SUV before venturing over to the Sweet Dreams Salon for a manicure.

Rachel Bilson: a maxi-dress on a mini-lady

Now, I realise you may have to take my word for this - but don’t be fooled. Like many famous, beautiful women (Eva Longoria, Kylie Minogue, Geri Halliwell) she. Is. Tiiiiiiiiny. If you were to meet her in person you might mistake her for a small girl, or possibly a kitten.

The point being: if you’re wondering whether or not you could pull off a new trend - say, ooh, the maxi-dress - it serves you well to remind yourself that when you see a celebrity wearing one, they’re usually very, very small, and perfectly formed. The celebrity, that is, not the trend. A maxi-dress certainly isn’t very, very small.

What it is, though, is very, very cute on the right person - say, Rachel Bilson - although be warned, as you can see from Rachel’s left hand, wearing one may involve taking it up a few inches lest you trip up in it, in your nice new Grecian sandals.

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen kept themselves bundled up as they made their way to a departing flight out of Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday (April 13).

The Jumper co-star couple are reportedly on their way to New York City to work on the star-studded collection of short films titled “New York, I Love You”.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the movie is comprised of 12 short tales from different directors and is currently shooting across the Big Apple’s five boroughs.

Rachel Bilson Designs Dress For Best Friend’s Wedding

Actress Rachel Bilson is designing her own maid of honor dress for The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz’s upcoming wedding to her best friend. Bilson, who last week announced she’s launching her own line with fashion brand DKNY, has been working with designer Brian Reyes on the gown.

The 26-year-old, best known for her role as Summer Roberts on TV hit “The O.C.,” will be a maid of honor at the event.

Bilson says, “I introduced them and now they are getting married. It’s so exciting. I’m pretty proud of this one.”

The 26-year-old says, “I’ve always been maternal. I want to travel and enjoy myself first, but I really want a family.

Rachel Bilson Lines Up

Rachel Bilson is the latest celeb to star in her own version of Project Runway.

The former O.C. star is launching a junior sportswear line for DKNY Jeans, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

The collection, dubbed Edie Rose, will debut in stores in September.

“This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time,” Bilson told WWD. “I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right.

The line, which takes the Edie part of its name from Bilson’s grandmother and the Rose portion from a close family friend, will feature pieces such as skinny jeans, button-down tops, T-shirts and sweaters. Items will wholesale between $19.50 and $49.50.
