$43,000 for 20 minute-date with Scarlett Johansson

A BRITON has paid 20,000 pounds ($43,000) for a 20-minute date with Hollywood siren Scarlett Johansson in support of the Oxfam charity.

The fan won a charity auction on eBay to be the 23-year-old actress’s guest at the world premiere of her new film He’s Just Not That Into You in July.

The mystery UK-based bidder has not been identified but goes by the nickname “bossnour”.

He or she will have their hair and make-up done and be chauffeured to the premiere with a guest before meeting the star.

Scarlett Johansson album

Scarlett Johansson is set to add another string to her bow – by releasing a music album in May.

The Other Boleyn Girl star, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her perfomance alongside Bill Murray in Lost in Translation, will release her first album on 6 May.

The album, entitled Anywhere I Lay My Head, will feature ten Tom Waits cover tracks and one original song, called a Song for Jo.

The music industry is filled with lots of wild-haired bozos. My job is to write articles about them. Then, I must scroll through hundreds of possible pictures of the aforementioned wild-haired bozos to find the perfect snapshot to accompany the news story. I’m a bit of a jokester; so, usually, I find a particularly goofy image. Not for this article. Nope. I’ve just spent the last fifteen minutes examining some new Scarlett Johansson promotional shots for her new album that found their way atop my desk, courtesy of Faded Youth, and well, let’s just say I’m in a better mood than I should be–on a Thursday–at work.
